In bed, light out, eyes closed, your brain says, “Hey, do you think that conversation you had with your friend today was okay? Did you say something stupid or maybe hurt her feelings somehow?” Are you free to rest?
You reply, “Shut up, I’m trying to go to sleep.”
Your brain continues, “But what if…”
Probably a shared experience. What about trying on three or more outfits before leaving the house, stressing over decisions, or holding on to regrets?
Billy Graham said, “When we come to the end of ourselves, we come to the beginning of God. The very practice of reading [the Bible] will have a purifying effect upon your mind and heart.”
Breaking away from limitations and fear can be a daunting task. Sometimes we don’t even realize we have self-imposed limitations. Fears may not rise until we are faced with a new challenge.
