BROKENHEARTED? STILL DREAM

When we are struggling, words can seem empty, or they can be filled with hope for advancement. Are you brokenhearted? Still dare to dream.

These quotes are from A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches of Martin Luther King Jr:

  • “Segregation is a blatant denial of the unity which we all have in Christ Jesus.”
  • “In the midst of outer dangers I have felt an inner calm and known resources of strength that only God could give. In many instances I have felt the power of God transforming the fatigue of despair into the buoyancy of hope.”
  • “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

You can see Dr. King’s thoughts paralleled in the following verses:

  • “I want to see a mighty flood of justice—a torrent of doing good.” Amos 5:24 Living Bible
  • “We are no longer Jews or Greeks or slaves or free men or even merely men or women, but we are all the same—we are Christians; we are one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28 Living Bible
  • “Scripture reassures us, ‘No one who trusts God like this—heart and soul—will ever regret it.’ It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help.” Romans 10:12 The Message
  • The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalms 34:18 New International Version

Please pray for a Godly foundation for our nation.
