Our lives are like a puzzle. Every day, we work to put the pieces together.
Did you try to jam in a piece that doesn’t belong and now everything is out of kilter? Throughout your life, did you give away too many pieces of your heart? Have past decisions left you struggling with regret?
Is a missing piece leaving you empty and incomplete? Only God can make you whole.
As you examine the puzzle of your life, realize the past is over, but it can inform and mold our choices today. The future is yet to come and no amount of wondering about it, planning, or worry will guarantee a preferred outcome. Do you try to exist in your past glory days or project yourself to an idealized future only to let this day pass you by? Accept each day as a gift from God and truly live in these present moments.
God helps you put the pieces together
Above all, time is unstoppable, but regret is not inevitable. Pull your life together, with God at the center, and allow each day to place another piece in your mosaic. One day you will look back on your life, with the dark places offering contrast to the light, and it will be beautiful.
2 Corinthians 7:10, The Message: “Distress that drives us to God does that. It turns us around. It gets us back in the way of salvation. We never regret that kind of pain. But those who let distress drive them away from God are full of regrets, end up on a deathbed of regrets.”
Jeremiah 17:9 & 10, The Message: “The heart is hopelessly dark and deceitful, a puzzle that no one can figure out. But I, God, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human, get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be.”
James 1:21, The Message: “So get rid of all that is wrong in your life, both inside and outside, and humbly be glad for the wonderful message we have received, for it is able to save our souls as it takes hold of our hearts.”
