Do you often find yourself feeling dissatisfied, unfulfilled, or depressed? Maybe you are trying too hard to be someone else, either someone you are trying to emulate because you think they have it more together than you, or someone you are trying to please by being who they want you to be. Instead, be true to you.
Why is it vital for you to be true to you?
Here is the big news from God: you have a place in this world and created to impact surrounding people. You, not a trying-to-be-someone-else wanna be. The entirety of your life, your experiences, your knowledge and way of thinking, makes you a unique being. No one in the world is exactly like you. Isn’t that amazing? Because of this, there are people around you who are drawn to you and not someone else. People who sense you may be like them, or you show them a positive outlook they wish they possessed, or they are attracted to the love of God in you.
The big question is: how will you use this underlying influence? Often someone is watching us when we don’t know it. My husband got a call a couple of months ago from a young man we knew from our former church. The young man was now an adult, and he was seeking career advice. His own father had passed away a couple of years ago. My husband was more than happy to advise him, but asked why the young man had called him. The young man explained that he had remembered my husband as being a successful, godly man. Wow! You never know who you may influence by living your daily life, your true to you and true to God life.
Ephesians 2:10 tells us,
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
